Background

A Neighbourhood Plan for the Parish of Lewknor will allow our community to have a strong voice in how development, ie. the use of Parish land, should be shaped in the future. The Plan must be firmly based on national and local authority policies, but can also consider how those policies should be applied specifically in the parish of Lewknor, and expands on those policies with local detail where appropriate.

A group of volunteers formed a Steering Group in August 2017 and have been meeting regularly to develop and analyse feedback surveys which give everyone in the Parish the opportunity to contribute to the Plan. You can find out who the Steering Group member are here, and you can read minutes of Steering Group meetings here.

Neighbourhood Planning is a long and complex process, and the Steering Group is always looking for additional volunteer members. If you could spare some time and are interested in the future of Lewknor Parish, please Contact Us

Two consultations have been completed so far and the results of these will allow the Steering Group to develop policies which will be the foundation of the Plan.

When the Plan is complete, it will be subject to a referendum, where the Lewknor Parish Community will vote on whether they agree with the proposed Plan. When a plan passes referendum, it becomes part of the development plan which helps South Oxford District Council decide planning applications for the Parish.
